Make It Meaningful: Summer Mini Album

Today I wanted to share a project that's easy to make but also fun to display. We all have certain summer activities we participate in each year. For us it was swimming lessons for many years. For this album, I created a swimming lessons album with a summer theme. This summer scrapbook mini album comes together very easily.

To start this project, I used an Ikea Tolsby Frame. I chose this frame because by removing the frame insert I can easily place a flip album inside the opening. To create the album, I used the Echo Park Paper "Summer Adventure" mini theme, which has the perfect sized journaling cards to serve as the base for this album.

For the inside of the album I used both photos and the cards, along with some embellishments from my stash. I didn't decorate the back side of the album pages because when displayed it would be difficult to see the back of the page.

I then punched holes in the tops of each card and threaded them onto two navy blue rings. I attached the rings to the top of the frame and added some brightly colored ribbon. Here's a close-up look of the bottom of the frame which I also decorated.

Below are some of the products I used to create this project.

The One in Which I Share a NEW Scrapbooking Process Video

You've been patiently waiting for it and it's finally here! A brand NEW scrapbooking process video for my "Memories Made" Youtube series. I thought it was high time to play with some paper again. For this video I accepted the challenge from some True Scrappers to use one collection to create a layout.

I used the "Made From Scratch" collection from Echo Park, along with, some additional embellishments to create this garden-themed layout.

Here is the video which you can watch below or HERE on my Youtube channel:

Stamped Teacher "Thank You" Card

Today I wanted to share one of the cards I made for my book. Now that my book isn't being published, I do have a few projects that I can share. This card was created as a "Thank You" card for a teacher. Teachers do so much for our kids. I think they deserve a pat on the back as often as possible.

To create this card, simply look for "school themed" papers for the background. Add a tag and some embossing and you're good to go. Bright colors make this card really pop.

Make It Meaningful: Quick and Easy Christmas Memories Tag Album

Christmas is always the most busy time of the year for our family. But I like to record and remember all of our activities for the season, and I'm always looking for ways for the kids to share their memories as well. In today's tutorial, I'll show you how to create a quick and easy tag album that can kids can help create and put together. For this project, I'm using this paper from Carta Bella Paper's "Christmas Time" collection:

I'm also incorporating a few stickers from this collection as well.

Step 1: Cut out all of the tags from the piece of patterned paper. Because this paper is double-sided, it has a beautiful green pattern on the back of each tag. It's also printed on heavy-weight textured paper making the tags a little more durable when the album is complete.

Step 2: Use a hole punch to punch the holes from each of the tags. Depending on the way you want to attach the album, will determine the size of hole you'll want to punch through each tag.

Step 3: Keep a jar handy with all of the tags inside. Place a black pen nearby for journaling. Then each day, allow one member of the family to select a tag from the jar and have them journal about their favorite holiday memory from the day. Include a date on the back or below the journaling to remember the date on which you recorded the memory.

Step 4: Begin stacking tags on top of each other. Tags may be layered in any order.

Step 5: Thread ribbon through the top of the holes and tie into a bow. You can also use a binder ring, twine, clips, etc. to hold the album together. Or string the entire set of tags on a long piece of ribbon to create a holiday memory garland.

Here's another look at the completed memory album. Using tags rather than a full album is a quick and easy way to scrapbook your holiday memories. Allowing the kids and your significant other to add their memories as well, will make the album even more special.
